Visceral Manipulation relates to the internal organs of the body and uses gentle manual therapy which may aid your body’s ability to release restrictions that cause pain and dysfunction.
What is Visceral Manipulation?
Visceral Manipulation does not focus solely on the site of pain or dysfunction but looks at the entire body to find the root of the problem.
Internal organs may be restricted due to injury and a person’s long-term lifestyle. The restriction of organs over time may result in muscle pain, but the treatment of the muscle alone may not provide long-term results.
It is often common for health problems to originate in one area of the body but for people to experience pain or discomfort in another. For this reason, our practitioners feel for altered or decreased motion within the internal organs such as the liver, intestines and kidneys, as well as for restrictive patterns throughout the body before applying Visceral Manipulation techniques.
The purpose of Visceral Manipulation therapy is to re-establish the body’s ability to adapt and restore itself to health.
